Love is in the Air

Whether you celebrate Valentine’s Day with your sweetheart or enjoy gifting friends and family, Martha Stewart has some great ideas that are sure to make your Valentine feel the love.

A beautiful bouquet of flowers is always appreciated, but wrapping the bouquet in a love poem will make it that much more special for your sweetie.

We love carnations!!! They have a bad wrap but they look beautiful when clustered pavé style and they are fragrant and last much longer than most other flower choices.
Arranging flowers in a decorative box is another great way to gift a gorgeous bouquet and can sit on your Valentine’s office desk or kitchen table for weeks after the holiday.
Beyond flowers, we love these gift ideas. Any picture frame can be spruced up with a little lace and a picture of your loved one. For the green thumb in your life, give flower seeds in a cute pot with a love message on the packet.

A box of chocolates is always a great treat and even sweeter when each chocolate piece has a small disc underneath with a reason why your honey is so loved. Or wrap your signature baked goods in Valentine’s Day wrapping paper to celebrate the day.

It's Game Time!!

It’s that time of year again! Super Bowl Sunday! Even if you’re not into watching the game, it’s a great excuse to host a fun gathering! How can you resist good times with friends and family, an overload on food & drinks, an awesome half time performance from The Black Eyed Peas, and those infamous commercials!

Here are some tips on how to throw a fun and cost-friendly party…

Decorations:
Instead of buying napkins, plates, and balloons with team logos on them, which could easily get pricey, decorate your party with team colors! Black, gold, and white for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and green, gold, and white for the Green Bay Packers. Balloons and streamers are always fun! Another way to make your party more festive is to display some props like footballs, helmets and pom poms!

Food:
Want your friends to rave over your appetizers and compliment your culinary skills? Here are some tips on how to make typical super bowl foods, like pizza and burgers, look fancy with very little effort!

Pizza
Order a few large cheese pizzas and using a round cookie cutter, cut out small pieces of pizza and garnish each piece with some fresh chopped tomatoes and chopped basil. Our inspiration for this dish came from easyrecipes!

Sliders
Serve the fanciest most modern sliders! We love this dish from Better Homes and Gardens!

Baked Mini Corn Dogs
This recipe from The Food Network is delicious!!

Games:
The “Football” game! Hand out football pins as your guests arrive. Whoever says the word “football” must give up their pin to the person who catches them. Whoever collects the most pins at the end of the day, wins!

Or you can play trivia games! For example…
Q: Which football player did Kim Kardashian date?
A: Reggie Bush
Suggested Prizes: a football or a Super Bowl XLV mug.

Hope all of you find these tips helpful! Happy Superbowl Sunday everyone! Make it a safe and memorable one!

Erin's Wonderland

Stacked teacups, magenta roses, and a candy bar to be remembered were just a few of the whimsical details that made Erin’s baby shower a true Wonderland. Inspired by Alice in Wonderland, we gave the original theme a girly twist by using shabby chic props and tea sets, bright magenta and lavender roses, and a pink candy bar that guests could indulge in throughout the party.

Each table had a unique centerpiece with stacked teacups, teapots and white shabby chic bins filled with magenta and lavender roses atop silver silk linens. We used props such as old books, clocks and framed pictures from Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland.

The candy bar won over the guests with its fun and delicious assortment of pink candy filled in large apothecary jars. An over-sized glass cage with stacked teacups was centered on the candy bar.

On the desert table, cupcakes were placed as a fun treat for guests. Cake pops made by Cakewalk Desserts were arranged in large wire teacups as beautiful and tasty party favors.

Erin, the mother-to-be, wore a corsage made of lavender roses and a deep purple ribbon.
